I had an AT&T landline from Aug. 2008 to April 2010. In April of 2010 I called AT&T to cancel my residential phone service because I was moving at the end of that month. Apparently, I was in the middle of a billing cycle and still owed a final payment to AT&T. I was not aware of this. In Dec. of 2010 we became AT&T customers again, when my husband and I each got an AT&T wireless phone, signed a 2 year contract, and set up our payments to be paid automatically each month. I was still not told at this time that I owed AT&T an outstanding bill from April of 2010. Then yesterday I called my bank about getting a mortgage loan and when they pulled my credit score it showed that my score dropped 100 points in the last year and the only ding against my credit was a $72 bill to AT&T. I am happy to pay this payment, I never received a bill, however, probably because the bill was mailed to my old address. In addition to paying this bill I would like to have the credit score issue resolved. I have been emailing and calling AT&T for 2 days and I have yet to find anyone at AT&T who is willing or able to resolve this issue.

That's awful, they should've at least told you when you opened another account with you, wouldn't both accounts be under the same social security number?
ReplyDeleteDid you have other mail forwarded to you when you moved? I wonder why you didn't get forwarded bills? Did they just quit sending bills since the account was closed and expect you to call a month later just to see if they might have something else they wanted to charge you for!? That's messed up!!
By the way, here's someone with a similar problem
